Decorative tile panel with a carpet-like decoration, a widespread style from the 17^th century onwards, reflecting the lack of funds for producing other types of tiles. Noted for being highly ornamental, the design is inspired by Indian print fabrics and Persian rugs, an expression of the Portuguese taste for the exotic.
