Belonging to the Freitas do Amaral family, this tomb was built during the mid-seventeenth century for Gregório do Amaral Castelo-Branco, Squire of Casa Nova and Casa de Sezim. The manorial estate was bequeathed to his heir and brother Dionísio do Amaral Freitas Barbosa, clerk of the City Council and Knight of the Order of Christ, in whose descendants’ possession it remained.
