Virgin of Mercy, a free-standing sculpture, sat, with the face and eyes directed upwards, she holds Christ’s lifeless body, which is lying on her knees, with her hands.

The garments she’s wearing are voluminous, the light tunic and the greenish mantle with a golden edge resting on the back standing out. This piece of wear also covers the Virgin’s head, which is protected by a bonnet that fits the contours of her face and is fastened in the front part in a large frill that falls on the chest.

Christ, with his eyes closed, has an uncovered face and trunk turned to the observer’s side, a falling arm and the inferior part of the body falling to the left side.
