The Pinheiro family of Barcelos was descended from Dona Mór Esteves Pinheiro, who inherited most of her father’s house. She married Martim Lopes or Gomes Lobo, General Magistrate for Dom Alfonso, 1st Duke of Bragança, whom he also served as Governor of Barcelos. There are many great and illustrious descendents from this marriage.
