Image of Saint Blaise represented as a bishop, with mitre and crosier. At his feet, there’s a kneeled boy with his hands lifted, an allusion to one of his most popular miracles: he saved a boy by taking a fishbone of his throat. He is, therefore, the saint invoked to cure throat illnesses and, nowadays, he was adopted as the patron saint of laryngologists.
